Peter's Resolutions for the New Year 2008:

As the old year comes to a close and the New Year begins, it’s a great time to change old habits and make new resolutions for the upcoming year. Why not make them green resolutions? Unlike resolutions that are difficult to stick with such as dieting or quitting smoking, green resolutions can have great impact and are often easy to maintain.
Make this year’s resolution one that you can keep

1) Recycle at least one more item. Don’t throw it away, recycle it.
(By recycling just one soda can, you would save 95% of the energy it takes to make a new can).
2) Change your furnace or A/C filter as needed. Filters cost pennies but will save you dollars in the long run.
(Clogged filters reduce efficiencies and cause the unit to run longer and use more energy).
3) Shut electrical items off when not in use. Flip the switch.
(By simply shutting off a device, you are saving the energy it takes to maintain that device at working levels. Lights, televisions, computers and more can be turned off when not in use and then turned on if needed again. If you are going to be away from the device for more than 15 minutes, it is always better to flip the switch.)
